Stop. Sit. Resist!
Tuesday, November 72:00—3:00 PMAuditoriumCentral Library79 Highland Ave, Somerville , MA, 02143
Join the Somerville Public Library and Wee the People for an interactive workshop for kids about physical movement and protest.
When we think about protest movements that have changed the world, we usually imagine people using their bodies and voices to march for justice. But some of the most powerful acts of protest have involved the opposite -- people using their bodies in silence and total stillness to make change.
This workshop will introduce kids to sit-ins, blockades, and other forms of direct action that use the body as a site of protest.
