Monday, November 187:00—8:00 PMEast BranchEast Branch115 Broadway, Somerville, MA, 02145
An educational and evocative mixture of live violin performance and stories about the composers and music, Joshua Peckins’ “Blue Sunrise” concert includes music from Bach to Blues, Ysaÿe’s famous “sunrise sonata, ” and traditional Norwegian Hardanger fiddle music on the modern violin.
Joshua Peckins “Music Speaks” violin recitals take listeners on an exciting journey from past to present, featuring classics of the past and contemporary pieces by living composers, with rich commentary and stories about the composers and music. An illuminating educational experience, as well as an opportunity to hear classical violin performance up close, these programs are a welcoming invitation to the violin and its repertoire of old and present day.
