Meet New U.S. Citizen: Maryna

Thursday, June 306:00—7:00 PMZoom

Are you ready to apply to become a U.S. Citizen? Join us to learn about the U.S. citizenship process and interview experience from a new U.S. Citizen, Maryna.

Maryna  moved to the United States alone from Belarus and applied for political asylum based on toxic poetry that criticized the government and the restrictions on practicing her native Belarusian language.  She is a published author and poet, and received a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution from Northeastern University.  She is currently an AmeriCorps member at the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA) and became a U.S. Citizen last year.

This presentation is being offered in partnership with MIRA (Massachusetts Immigrant & Refugee Advocacy Coalition) and as part of Pathways to Citizenship, which is made possible through federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
