Artist Talk with Edie Bresler

Monday, June 176:30—8:00 PMWest Branch Community RoomWest Branch 40 College Ave, Somerville, MA, 02144

Please join us on June 17th for a lively discussion with artist Edie Bresler about how photography and creativity are intimately connected with a treasure trove of books available within the Minuteman Library system. Bresler will take you on a visual and participatory odyssey, demonstrating how chemistry, light, time and sometimes a lens convey stories of adventure, invention and discovery and how these tales have kept creative sparks flowing inside her studio. This artist talk is supported in part by the Somerville Arts Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

Longtime artist and educator, Edie Bresler is a recipient of a Massachusetts Cultural Council fellowship, a New York Foundation for the Arts grant, several Somerville Arts Council awards and a Berkshire Taconic Artist Resource Grant. A popular speaker, Bresler's projects have been featured on Good Morning America, PBS Greater Boston, Photograph Magazine, Lenscratch, Slate, Esquire, Photo District News, Business Insider, and many others. Her artworks are in collections at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, the Danforth Museum of Art, Fidelity Bank, Polaroid Corporation and in numerous private collections. She is represented locally by Gallery Kayafas.
